Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 6, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how ASINCrate uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. We’re committed to being transparent about our data practices.
TL;DR: We use minimal, essential cookies. No third-party advertising trackers. No selling your data.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how you use the site. Cookies can be:
- First-party cookies: Set by the website you’re visiting (us)
- Third-party cookies: Set by other services embedded on the website
- Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Remain until they expire or you delete them

2.3 Analytics Cookies
We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how visitors use our website. These are optional.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy |
|---|---|---|
| Plausible Analytics | Page views, referrers, device types | No cookies, privacy-focused |
We specifically chose Plausible Analytics because it’s privacy-focused and doesn’t use cookies at all. It’s GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant out of the box.
3. Cookies We Do NOT Use
To be clear about what we don’t do:
- No advertising cookies: We don’t run ads or use ad tracking
- No Google Analytics: We don’t use GA or other invasive trackers
- No Facebook Pixel: We don’t track for social media advertising
- No cross-site tracking: We don’t follow you across the web
- No data brokers: We don’t share data with third parties for marketing
4. Chrome Extension Storage
The ASINCrate Chrome extension uses browser local storage (not cookies) to store:
- Your authentication token (if logged in)
- Extension preferences and settings
- Cached ASIN unlock status
This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to websites you visit.
5. Third-Party Services
We use these third-party services that may set their own cookies:
5.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you make a payment, Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
5.2 Google Fonts
We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log requests but does not use cookies for this. See Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
6. Managing Cookies
6.1 Browser Settings
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
6.2 Opt-Out
You can opt out of non-essential cookies by:
- Declining cookies in our consent banner (when implemented)
- Adjusting your browser settings to block third-party cookies
- Using browser extensions like Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin
6.3 Consequences of Disabling Cookies
If you disable essential cookies:
- You may not be able to log in or stay logged in
- Some features may not work correctly
- You may need to re-enter preferences on each visit
7. Do Not Track
We respect Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. When DNT is enabled, we disable any optional tracking. However, since we don’t use invasive tracking to begin with, the practical difference is minimal.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change our cookie practices. We’ll note the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be announced on our website.
